Transportation Security Officers provide security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft in a courteous and professional manner.

Potential Supervisor promotions, with salary of $71,600 and Lead with salary of $65,769.

Full time and Part time positions are currently open.
Part time is defined as 20 - 32 hours per week, with the possibility to schedule additional hours dependent on the Operational needs of the airport. Part time employees receive the same medical/dental benefits as full time employees.

Candidates with current or previous US Military experience are eligible to apply for full time employment. Women are encouraged to apply.



  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a Credit and Criminal background check. No default on $7,500 or more in delinquent debt.
  • Must complete TSA’s two-week New Hire training.  The training location will be away from San Francisco airport. Employees will be paid for compensable hours and reimbursed for authorized travel expenses per CAS Travel Policy. 

Travel Required:

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Job requires standing 100% of time.
  • Constant standing, lifting, twisting and bending.

  • At times work environment can be crowded
  • Temperatures vary


Essential Functions:

Responsible for identifying dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft.
Carry out duties in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service.
Use diverse, cutting edge electronic detection and imaging equipment. 
Perform wanding, pat down searches, operation of x-ray machines, baggage screening and ticket review as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
