Responsibilities

The Duty Manager is responsible for representing SFOTEC and the SFOTEC Managing Director's Office as necessary during their assigned shift. Key responsibilities include:

 

General

  • Responds to and assists in mitigating emergencies as necessary.
  • Maintains quality control standards for performance, reliability, serviceability, and safety for the international terminal and ramp operations.
  • From time to time, attends key airport stakeholder meetings on behalf of SFOTEC and/or the Managing Director as required.
  • Completes daily on-duty shift reports for submittal to SFOTEC Senior Management, Airlines, and Airport Community. Provides weekly and monthly performance report dashboards and scorecards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by SFOTEC Senior Management and Executive Committee.

Terminal Operations

  • Oversees and monitors all SFOTEC-managed systems and equipment, including but not limited to check-in counters, baggage handling, make-up and claim units, checkpoints, passenger loading bridges, gate management, FIDs, and dynamic signs.
  • Monitors operational performance of all equipment maintained by SFOTEC.
  • Coordinates with Airlines, Airport, TSA, CBP, vendors, and contractors as required to ensure each airline receives an optimal level of services.
  • Monitors passenger flows at check-in aisles, security checkpoints, FIS, and other key locations.
  • Specifies, evaluates, recommends, and/or administers policies, practices, and programs necessary to ensure a safe, efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with Ramp Coordination to assist Airlines, Ground Handlers, and Vendors as needed, ensuring their aircraft turn-around processes do not negatively impact daily planning and gate assignments in the International Terminal and Terminal 1.

Ramp Coordination

  • Proactively oversees and monitors all SFOTEC-managed gates at the ramp-level to ensure airlines, ground handlers, and associated vendors are executing their assigned duties safely and on-time in accordance with established Airline l<Pls and Airport gating timelines.
  • Physically assists Airlines, Ground Handlers, and Vendors as needed to ensure their aircraft turn-around processes do not negatively impact daily planning and gate assignments in the International Terminal and Terminal 1.
  • Actively seeks out solutions to improve the Ramp environment from health and safety, security, and operational perspectives. Evaluates, recommends, and/or administers policies, practices, and programs necessary to ensure a safe, efficient work environment on the ramp.
  • Liaises with Ramp Control Towers A & G to report any gate issues involving delayed flight departures, including emergencies, safety-related issues, aircraft mechanical delays, airline, ground handler, and vendor issues, gate equipment failures, and any other operational issues observed.
  • Works closely with SFO Airfield Safety in responding to emergencies and resolving safety­ related issues involving aircraft operations, ramp personnel, and GSE equipment. Develops and enforces common use SFOTEC Ramp Safety Policy and Procedures guidelines.
  • Maintains quality control standards for performance, reliability, serviceability, and safety for the International Terminal and Terminal 1 ramp operations through the use of provided electronic devices and software technologies.
