Responsibilities

Position Summary
The PM Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing evening operations and serving as a key leader in both the front and back of house. This role partners directly with the Manager to ensure daily operations run smoothly, guests are delighted, and staff are supported.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you will be actively involved in expediting food, managing the line, operating the register, assisting with cooking or beverage preparation, and ensuring all areas meet Bacon Bacon’s standards of speed, quality, and hospitality. At the same time, you will be responsible for key administrative and leadership tasks — from managing schedules and labor compliance to ordering supplies and assisting with team training.

Our PM Shift Manager is not just a supervisor — they are the cultural leader of the shift, setting the tone for teamwork, problem-solving, and guest engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Service

  • Lead evening service, managing all aspects of operations to ensure speed, consistency, and quality.
  • Oversee both FOH and BOH teams during the shift, stepping into any role as needed — including expeditor, cashier, cook, or beverage maker.
  • Monitor and adjust ticket flow, guest wait times, and product quality throughout the shift.
  • Ensure FOH surfaces, condiment stations, pass shelves, and grab-and-go displays remain clean and organized.
  • Restock beverages, grab-and-go items, and prep supplies to maintain service readiness.
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards are upheld in compliance with airport and company policies.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Provide direct leadership and coaching during the PM shift, maintaining a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Manage staff breaks and shift coverage to optimize labor while ensuring fairness and compliance.
  • Support the Manager with hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Model excellent guest service and set expectations for staff in every guest interaction.
  • Use tools such as Toast POS and Viber to manage communication, monitor performance, and provide real-time updates.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Partner with the Manager to prepare and adjust schedules, using sales and Toast data to align staffing with traffic patterns.
  • Review and adjust time clock entries to ensure compliance with labor policies and break requirements.
  • Act as an authorized signatory for SFO processes, including new employee badging, badge renewals, accommodation forms, and security audits.
  • Assist with ordering and inventory management for bread, specialty ingredients, smallwares, and kitchen supplies.
  • Support development of beverage programs, seasonal menu items, and efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in daily and weekly leadership meetings to align with the Manager on operational goals and long-term improvements.

  • You excel under pressure and maintain a positive, motivating presence for your team, even during the busiest rushes.
  • You are reliable, flexible, and solutions-focused, always thinking one step ahead to keep operations running smoothly.
  • You are excited by the chance to grow with a brand that is expanding in the Bay Area and beyond.
